CNU, Samsung Electronics Co-operate the Telecommunication Track Program

CNU and Samsung Electronics have agreed to foster customized IT personnel with expertise. At the reception room on the 5th floor of the University Administration Building, CNU
s President Kang Jung-chae and executive managing director Jang Byong-jo of Samsung Electronics signed a cooperative pact for the operation of the telecommunication track program in order to foster custom-made manpower specializing in information technology. The event was held at 11:50 a.m. of Feb. 10. Based on the signed pact, CNU will provide a new educational course which will be included in the curricula of the School of Electronics and Computer Engineering and its graduate programs as well. The Telecommunication track combines courses in information communication, telecommunication, and other areas relevant to the student
s goals. Samsung Electronics will provide CNU with a 40 million won support for the course development. Scholarships and tuition subsidies will be provided for the selected outstanding students by Samsung. The students who complete the telecommunication track program will be allowed to participate in Samsung
s internship (on-the-job training) program. The newly established telecommunication track program will be managed by the steering committee consisting of CNU professors in the School of Electronics and Computer Engineering and Samsung Electronics
team directors or officers. President Kang Jung-chae said, \"Encouraging the business activities and fostering competent workers have a same goal to make our lives affluent. I expect further customized curriculum would be developed with this academia-industry collaboration as a momentum.\" \"We do not spare any efforts in order to get competent personnel. Based on this agreement, many outstanding students will have chances to obtain job experiences. Samsung Electronics will continue to search for new strategic alliances worldwide with global industry leaders to broaden its opportunities,\" said Jang Byong-jo, executive managing director of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
