The New Student Lounge and Renovation of Chungram Hall on the CNU Yeosu Campus

CNU has invested 2.3 billion KRW to improve the environment on its Yeosu Campus.

Currently, Chungram Hall, a cultural complex on CNU's Yeosu Campus, is in the process of renovation, which costs 1.8 billion KRW. The project recently finished the exterior renovation and started work on the interior renovation, aiming to complete the entire project in October.

Chungram Hall, consisting of one basement level and two ground levels, has a convenience store and a resting area as well as a one-person media studio in the basement. The first floor has a cafeteria, and the second floor will be equipped with a conference room, exhibition hall, and reading rooms. The building will be open to the public for local residents.

The new Student Lounge has also been opened and is gaining popularity with students. In order to provide students with space for studying, a total of 400 million KRW has been invested to establish places for individual study, team projects, and group discussions, tailored to the characteristics of each building for different colleges and dormitory halls.

In addition, hall for the physical fitness training of students was newly renovated after investing 70 million KRW. It is expected to contribute to the improvement of physical competencies of students of the maritime police major.

Vice President Cho Ki-ryang stated, “The renovation of Chungram Hall is expected to better facilitate the servicing of the local community. CNU will continue improvement projects of campus facilities to support students and provide spaces for local residents.”
