CNU Selected as a Key University for Nurturing Intellectual Property Professionals

CNU was selected as a key university for fostering experts in intellectual property in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province.

The CNU Gwangju-Jeonnam Intellectual Property Professional Training Center (Director: Professor Cho Sung-yong) has been selected as a key university institute for nurturing intellectual property professionals in the 2021 Intellectual Property Professional Training Key University Project governed by the Korean Intellectual Property Office. For the operation of the first round of the project, CNU will receive 6.5 billion KRW for five years.

The CNU Intellectual Property Professional Training Center will establish related convergence majors and graduate schools to cultivate experts in various fields of intellectual property for convergence with other fields such as engineering, business administration, law, and the humanities. In addition, in connection with the Gwangju-Jeonnam regional innovation platform, it will carry out programs for ▲ the establishment of a related convergence education system, ▲ the provision of professional education and scholarships for high school, university, graduate school, and employees in the field, and ▲ support programs for intellectual property-based start-ups and local company for patent-related processes.

Director Cho said, “We aim to establish a future-oriented education system in related fields by providing high-quality education programs to 15 participating universities in the Gwangju-Jeonnam area.”
