CNU produced 334 new teachers this year.

The CNU College of Education (Dean: Professor Kim Hoi-soo, Department of Education) produced a total of 334 successful candidates in the 2021 Secondary School Teacher Appointment Test, ranking first among national flagship universities.

The number of successful applicants from CNU increased despite the decrease in the size of recruitment of new teachers and successful applicants are evenly spread out across various subjects and regions for appointment.

265 new teachers will be appointed to public schools and 69 to private schools. By region, 89 will go to Gwangju, 147 to Jeonnam, 28 to Jeonbuk, 9 to Seoul and Incheon, 22 to Gyeonggi, and 8 to Chungnam.

CNU believes that it has been of great help to have cooperative officials dispatched from the two offices of education in Gwangju and Jeonnam, who have worked full-time on training in connection with the school and cooperated to establish a local educational community.

Professor Kim, Dean of the College of Education stated, “We will further strengthen our cooperation with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Office of Education to produce the best teachers that meet the needs of the region and our future society. This year, we will expand and reinforce Edutech mentoring for local middle and high school students. In addition, we will actively share the research results of the university and strive to build the best educational environment in the country by diversifying the guidance program conducted by teachers in the field for college students.”
