On February 16th, officials of CNU and Yeosu City government held the 7th Working Group-Level Council for Mutual Development in the Briefing Room of Yeosu City Hall and formed a consensus in creating the CNU Yeosu Industry-Academic Convergence Campus as the Regional Cooperation Campus, a representative regional educational brand that connects graduation and employment.

Through this cooperative program, the university will work together with the city government to cultivate an excellent workforce through joint development of educational programs. Further aims include creating a positive atmosphere within regional industries for employment and persuading the headquarters of local companies to provide employment opportunities to CNU students after graduation.

In particular, there was a consensus on the composition of the Working Group-Level Council in which Yeosu City and CNU, as well as companies in the Yeosu Industrial Complex, participate in order to facilitate practical discourse.

It was also decided to review the availability of scholarships for newly admitted and enrolled students of departments of cutting-edge technologies funded by the Yeosu City Human Resources Development Association.

In addition, in order to jointly cope with the crisis of local universities resulting from the decline in the school-age population, the university and the regional government shared opinions to prepare and plan for the future together.

To this end, the university and the city decided to cooperate to strengthen the efforts to attract excellent students from local high schools, which has been conducted by the Yeosu City Happiness Education Support Center through joint efforts to strengthen public relations activities for high school students and the heads of middle and high schools.

The parties also discussed issues of the CNU Yeosu Campus such as ▲ the cooperative project using the Hyupdong Hall on the Kookdong Campus, ▲ problems regarding the lack of parking spaces on the Kookdong Campus, and ▲ the necessity to improve the asphalt pavement of the Doondeok Campus.
