Students of the School of Architecture Won Awards at Gwangju Architecture Competition

CNU students were honored with awards including the first and second prizes at the 4th Gwangju Architecture Competition, a nationwide architectural design competition.

The Gwangju Architecture Competition is an annual national architectural competition organized by the Gwangju and Jeonnam branch of the Korean Institute of Architects.

In the competition, which called for applications from July to September, CNU student Moon Si-hoo (senior of the School of Architecture) took first place with the work titled 'The Track 512' and was awarded the prize money of seven million KRW. Also, Choi Seung-yeon (5th year in the School of Architecture) received the second prize and three million KRW with the work ‘Sailing Again’.

In addition, among the thirteen awardees on the final list, six of them were students of CNU’s School of Architecture, including one third-place award winner and three fourth-place award winners.

Professor Han Seung-hoon, Dean of the School of Architecture, said, “The fruitful results in this prestigious national competition prove the excellence of CNU, which operates a systematic KAAB (Korea Architectural Accrediting Board) program. We are looking forward to witnessing the development and flourishment of our students in the future.”
