CNU is expanding its efforts to cultivate global talent through overseas volunteer activities.

On December 27, 2023, the university dispatched a team of nine students recruited publicly to engage in overseas volunteer activities in Laos.

During their one-month stay until January 25, 2024, in the village of Vang Vieng in Laos, the team conducts various exchange and volunteer activities, including facility maintenance at a local learning center, language education in English and Korean, and introducing Korean culture.

In this program, which follows the motto "Small beginnings that change the world, from development to solidarity," the volunteer members aim to respect the local way of life and  experience living just like the locals.

Since establishing a connection with the Vang Vieng Youth Center in Laos in 2012, CNU has continued international development cooperation through volunteer activities for a total of nine times.

Volunteer member Yoo Seong-min (junior student majoring in Physical Education) stated, "Even though there are inconveniences such as living without a cell phone and cooking with fire, I will strive to understand the lives of the locals by always maintaining a smile and shouting ‘dijai lai’ (meaning ‘I feel good’ in the local language)."

In addition, CNU dispatched 160 students to 11 Asian countries, including Japan, China, Cambodia, and the United Arab Emirates through its "50,000 Journey Project" winter vacation program. This provides the students a wide range of opportunities for growth as global talent by engaging in activities related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and investigating the activities of each country.
