CNU will continue its 50,000 Journey Project during the winter vacation, allowing students to explore abroad with a contribution of only 50,000 KRW.

On November 29, the university held the winter launch ceremony for the 50,000 Journey Project at the First Student Union Building, attended by over 130 participating students. During the event, the participants discussed and shared their travel plans.

The 50,000 Journey Project supports students who have never had the opportunity to travel abroad by requiring them to pay only 50,000 KRW for passport issuance, with the university covering the remaining expenses for the overseas exploration program. This is the second round of the program, following its launch in the previous summer vacation.

A total of 270 students applied for the winter season’s 50,000 Journey Project, and after submitting excellent travel plans, 160 students (47 individuals and 113 in 48 teams) were selected. The selected students will receive financial support of 1.5 million KRW each.

Participants will choose a country to visit and their own agenda from the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), creating autonomous and proactive activities by establishing exploration goals and plans.

President Jung expressed his support, stating, "Like the humpback whale that travels up to 16,000 km annually, such challenges are a necessary process for growth and maturity. I am confident that the 50,000 Journey Project will be the first step and challenge for our students to grow as protagonists of the world."
