President Jung has been appointed as the Chair of the National Universities Presidents' Association for 2024, serving a term until December 31, 2024.

The National Universities Presidents' Association, consisting of presidents from 40 national and public universities across the country, held its fourth meeting of 2023 at the National University of Busan on November 30. During the meeting, President Jung was elected as the next chairperson.

On the same day, the council also discussed allowing transfer students who dropped out of education programs to train students to fulfill the demand from the education field, requesting the exclusion of vehicles for research use from public vehicle management regulations, and allowing linked courses such as bachelor's and master's degrees with overseas universities.

The National Universities Presidents' Association was founded in 1992 as a consultative body that discusses the development of higher education and university innovation through cooperation between the presidents of 40 national and public universities across the country.

President Jung expressed his commitment, stating, “I have been entrusted with an important role in the midst of a serious university crisis. I will do my best, however small, for the innovation and joint development of 40 national and public universities, and further the development of higher education in Korea.”
