Chonnam National University marked its 70th founding anniversary and the 42nd anniversary of the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement with a seminar reflecting on 20 years of East Timor's independence, focusing on international development and peacekeeping ODA efforts. The university's Gwangju International Development Cooperation Center organized this event to discuss South Korea's contributions to peacekeeping and development in East Timor, educational support for East Timorese students, and the creation of the Kim Dae-jung Peace Center.
