3.3.6 smoke free policy

Chonnam National University has been committed to creating a smoke-free campus environment since the launch of its smoking cessation clinic in 2015. Through continuous anti-smoking initiatives up to 2022, the university has been dedicated to spreading a non-smoking atmosphere throughout the campus and expanding smoke-free areas.

[Anti-Smoking Supporters]

○ Activities
- Conducting on-campus anti-smoking promotions and campaigns
- Creating diverse and original online and offline anti-smoking promotions each month based on designated themes
- Operating a non-smoking club and establishing a non-smoking campus environment (activities of non-smoking aides)

[Smoking Status Survey]

○ Conducting a smoking survey among members of the Yeosu Campus to grasp the current smoking situation to facilitate the creation of a non-smoking environment and to use it in smoking prevention and anti-smoking promotional activities

[Smoking Prevention Education]

○ Expecting to decrease smoking rates during drinking by distributing educational materials and conducting health promotion activities in connection with the Yeosu City Health Center, focusing on smoking cessation, alcohol abstinence, and discontinuation of habitual drugs, with anti-smoking lectures provided by Yeosu City's anti-smoking instructors on the harmful effects of smoking and secondhand smoke, and the importance of quitting

[On-Campus Non-Smoking Promotion and Campaigns]

○ Smoking cessation promotion and campaign locations: Throughout the campus (especially around student gathering places such as the student union building, Cheonggyeongmaru, Raonnuri, and the cafeteria area, main gate, and other key facilities)

[Smoking Cessation Clinic Registration]
○ Making utmost efforts and providing support to actively promote registration in the smoking cessation clinic to incoming students who smoke
Utilizing team coaching by staff and assistants for freshman counseling and conducting surveys
