11.4.3 sustainable practices remote working

Chonnam National University is fostering flexible work arrangements and enhancing work-life balance by promoting remote and flexible work policies. Through remote work, employees can perform their duties from locations other than the office, saving on commuting time and expenses. The flexible work arrangement allows individuals to adjust their work hours to fit personal life patterns or family circumstances, which is especially beneficial for those who need to balance caregiving or academic studies with their job.

The university has introduced these modern work systems to provide a better work environment for employees, aiming to increase job satisfaction and productivity. These measures help position the university as a competitive modern employer, attracting and retaining talents from diverse backgrounds. Chonnam National University's initiatives positively impact the broader educational and industrial sectors and contribute to changing social perceptions of flexible work environments.

Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, these policies have enabled continuous work beyond the limitations of in-person attendance, helping prevent the spread of COVID within the workplace. After holidays, the university has implemented measures to allow a minimum of 30% of the workforce from each institution and department to work from home or take leave.
