11.4.4 sustainable practices housing employees

[Official Residences]

Chonnam National University is actively managing official residences for its faculty and staff. These accommodations provide a practical and cost-effective living solution, aiming to enhance employees' overall well-being and work-life balance. By offering this significant perk, the university seeks to attract and retain top talent, supporting the creation of a cohesive and collaborative academic atmosphere. The initiative demonstrates the institution's understanding of stable housing as an essential component of job satisfaction and efficiency.

[Housing Subsidy Payment]

To mitigate the financial burden of transportation and provide stable accommodation for staff working across geographically dispersed campuses, Chonnam National University has introduced a comprehensive support scheme. By alleviating the costs associated with travel and lodging required for job execution, the university aims to boost employee job satisfaction and operational productivity.

Employees utilizing university-provided accommodation do so without the stress of additional financial burden, a particularly advantageous provision for those requiring long-distance commutes. For those not using the university housing, a monthly housing subsidy of KRW 150,000 is provided to assist with their accommodation expenses.

In addition, Chonnam National University offers a substantial exchange allowance of KRW 400,000 per month to support expenses incurred from travel and lodging due to business trips or temporary assignments at other campuses, fostering smooth interaction and collaboration between campuses.

These measures are part of the university's strategic efforts to reduce the financial strain of inter-campus mobility on employees, creating an environment that allows them to focus more intensively on their work, and thus improving the university's overall operational efficiency.
