Chonnam National University has established the 'Chonnam National University Guidelines for the Safe Management of Laboratory Wastewater and Designated Waste' to ensure the safe disposal of hazardous waste generated in its laboratories. These guidelines specify the classification, disposal, transport, and handling of laboratory wastewater, designated waste, waste reagents from research and testing, and medical waste. The aim is to prevent accidents and minimize damage in case they occur. Laboratory managers and users each have duties regarding the management of chemicals and waste, and the designated safety manager is responsible for the proper collection of waste and related tasks. Waste disposal procedures must follow established protocols, and immediate emergency response and reporting are required in the event of an accident.
