14.3.2 supporting aquatic ecosystems through action policy campus food sustainably harvested

[Chonnam National University Aquatic Disease Management Institute Regulations]

2009. 9. 1.

Article 1 (Name): This institute shall be called the Chonnam National University Aquatic Disease Management Institute (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute").
 
Article 2 (Purpose): The Institute aims to conduct basic and clinical research in the field of aquatic animal diseases and research on the food safety of aquatic organisms to contribute to the development of aquatic life medicine and the aquaculture industry.
 
Article 3 (Operations): To achieve the purpose of Article 2, the Institute shall perform the following operations:
1. Basic and clinical research in the field of aquatic animal diseases.
2. Disease diagnosis and release aquatic animal inspection.
3. Research on the food safety of aquatic organisms.
4. Research on commissioned projects, international exchanges, and cooperation projects.
5. Training of specialized personnel in the field of aquatic animal diseases and food safety.
6. Other operations necessary for the achievement of the Institute's x-objectives.
 
Article 4 (Organization):
1. The Institute shall consist of a director, a planning and education department, a clinical research department, a food safety research department, and an international cooperation department.
2. The director shall be appointed by the president upon the recommendation of the head of the Research Affairs Office from among the faculty members of Chonnam National University with the rank of assistant professor or higher, and the term of office shall be two years.
3. The director shall represent the Institute and oversee its operations.
4. Each department shall have a head appointed by the director with the approval of the operating committee.
5. The Institute may employ administrative staff.
6. Each department shall be responsible for the following matters:
· Planning and Education Department: Planning, education, and management of the Institute's overall operations.
· Clinical Research Department: Basic and clinical research on aquatic animal diseases.
· Food Safety Research Department: Research on the food safety of aquatic organisms.
· International Cooperation Department: Support for seminars, academic conferences, and other external exchange activities.
 
Article 5 (Researchers): The Institute may employ the following researchers:
1. Full-time Researchers: Individuals appointed as "full-time" researchers through external funding.
2. Adjunct Researchers: Individuals appointed by the university's faculty members.
3. Researchers: Individuals with a doctoral degree or completion of a doctoral program affiliated with the Institute.
4. Assistant Researchers: Individuals with a bachelor's degree or higher.
5. Special Researchers and Advisory Researchers: Individuals appointed by the Institute for operational needs, excluding those in paragraphs 1 to 4.
 
Article 6 (Operating Committee):
1. To deliberate on important matters related to the operation of the Institute, an operating committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") is established.
2. The Committee shall be chaired by the director and composed of up to four members appointed by the director, including at least one external expert. The term of office for appointed members shall be two years, and reappointment is possible.
3. Committee meetings require the attendance of at least two-thirds of the members and approval by the majority of the attending members.
4. Committee meetings may be convened at the request of one-third or more of the members or when deemed necessary by the chairman.
 
Article 7 (Research Presentation): The Institute shall annually announce its research achievements through publications or research meetings for the respective year.
 
Article 8 (Finances): The operating expenses of the Institute shall be covered by subsidies, indirect expenses, various support funds, and other income.
 
Article 9 (Operating Rules): Detailed matters necessary for the operation of the Institute shall be determined separately by the director through the deliberation of the Committee.
